Grillfish
A grown-up hot spot for cool fish.
Restaurant
From the Editors
Step into Grillfish and you'll be knocked out by the bigger-than-life provocative nude mural, the stone bar and the massive mirrors. This is a place for singles and couples; it resonates with chatter, especially at happy hour. Even thought it's the youngest member of a mini-chain, with sisters in Miami Beach and Boston, DC's Grillfish has become the ringleader. The young and hip pack the place -- couples call it intimate, singles find it fun and everyone enjoys the moderate pricing. Take your cue from the name and order grilled fish, always fresh and striped from the open fire. Drop in for lunch and try grilled tuna over spinach salad with miso-sesame dressing, or a salmon club with grilled red onion. Buffalo shrimp with blue cheese bring raves. The Sunday jazz brunch has a New Orleans feel with zingy Bloody Marys, funky drinks like Mangotini and first class lemonade. If you really must have red meat, carnivores can order the beef satay with peanut sauce. -- Tracey E. Meloni |
